*So, Tarou's at SAI.
At the obviously very generous suggestion by Shian, Tarou decided that yes, SAI might be a good place to learn more about spirits and their influences-- or at the least, he could compare his own information to whatever SAI had to offer.
The place researching psychic duelists and how to help them was also a personal bonus.
But still, he's outside of the building, checking his bag to make sure all of his notes are in order. It's a good time to approach him casually.*

*Probably smart to not push it, but it's likely it's related to what Shian was talking about-- that he's going to use a scapegoat.
But if he really does have an Earthbound figuratively leaning over his shoulder, that's hard to broach unless he says it himself...*

Thankfully big threats aren't as common these days, but they tend to still come up every so often.
no subject
OOParts... I don't really know a whole lot about them, but at least you have the resources to handle less than ideal situations.
Did they use to just happen all of the time? These "big threats" you'd deal with?
no subject
*He nods in response.*
More often than I would've liked, especially when I was younger and still at Duel Academy... and even a few years after that.
At some points it just seemed like one thing after another.
Aaaand I had a bit of a reputation of being the 'hero' at Duel Academy at the time, so a lot of the stuff I often ended up getting involved in.
It was a pretty rough time.

I mean, you seem like you're pretty capable, but I guess you can't really imagine someone getting into the thick of situations unless you see it yourself!
*he rubs the back of his head a little, embarrassed.*
no subject
Anyone can crumble under extreme pressure and honestly, back then I was terrible at letting my friends help. I was always too worried they'd get hurt, so I often tried to not involve them and tackle things on my own.
Sometimes you just learn things the hard way.
no subject
Right... Learning teamwork is pretty important. Though I guess sometimes, there's situations you just have to handle yourself, right?
Of course, I've never really worked well with teams, myself, so I can sympathize with that in part.

no subject
So you have to learn teamwork. With people you can actually trust.
*... you feel like he has baggage there that he's shoving out of sight.*
no subject
So is there anything else you're curious about, in regards to SAI?
no subject
Do you have an active research team? You mentioned one person, but I want to know if you have an operating team.
no subject
She's very interested in wanting to research the actual worlds within the 12 Dimensions, as there's only so much information she can get from the Spirits who live in the city themselves.
As mentioned, I know someone with an airship that can travel through dimensions, so I'm thinking of bringing him on as part of a research and exploration team.
Other than that, I'm wishing to expand our research team gradually, as we secure funding and all that.

*Tarou was listening patiently, noting that they don't seem very equipped for that sort of thing yet, but then...*
Wait, an airship?
You have someone who has an actual airship that can do that?
no subject
I've heard he's been wanting to use it more and he has a keen interest in both exploring different worlds and learning about them, so I think it would be a huge benefit for SAI.
no subject
I mean, that'd be a benefit in a lot of situations, now wouldn't it?
How accurate is the ship's capabilities? Can he simply decide where to go, or does he need existing coordinates or something like that? Does it only go to other dimensions, or is it able to travel easily around Earth, too?

no subject
Absolutely fascinating, honestly. I haven't heard of technology like that just simply... being used!
Domino truly is a fascinating city, getting to see it and who lives here, seeing what's capable... *well at least that confirms he's not originally from Domino...*
no subject
Out of curiosity, where are you originally from?
no subject
Though it sounded like he had to think for a moment, before saying anything.*
no subject
Ah, so far enough from Domino City to not really experience the things that we commonly see here.
no subject
no subject
Oh? You've travelled a lot? Where did you go?
no subject
*... he starts pulling out another binder*
All around! I've been all over the Asian continent of course, but I've been to Australia and the Americas as well, so far. It's amazing how far-reaching signs of effects of monsters and spirits are, in terms of the world at large.
*he pushes the binder forward. It's pretty hefty!*
Like I said, I've written a lot about it. I especially enjoyed my trip through China, but I'm hoping once I get to go to Europe, that'll be exciting enough, too.
no subject
W-wow. That is a lot of research, but important stuff I'm sure! After all it can be easy to see the effects of human/monster interactions here in Domino most of the time, but they're not as easy to notice in other parts of the world, but their influence, I imagine, can be all over.

Have you ever traveled far?
