I think I might need to look into options to help support my body, I've come to vividly realize.

Oh, I know what's causing it.

I shattered my spine after a some several many meters drop and spent 13 years in a half-life state under the sway of a dark god.

"Ah. And that dark god no longer has sway, causing your body to begin to revert to how it 'should' be?"

They hum tunelessly again and fold their arms across their chest.

"I don't know what you were told, but I am not quite a medical doctor. In actuality, my boss would be more suited for this sort of thing if you're seeking to modify an existing body. My specialty would be to grow and build you a new body from the ground up, similar to my own, pop your soul out, and put it in there. All under the supervision of Haita of course."

Yes, been dark god-free for over a year and a half now!

Soul transfer, huh? It's obviously a valid choice for me to consider, given the state of things-- just starting basically from fresh.

Do you use dolls as a basis for these bodies?

"Congratulations. As a slowly reforming dark sorcerer myself, I know how hard that could be. I did something very similar but with the Lswarm virus."

They nod.

"I had hoped it would be. I think it's painless? Probably painless. Or such searing pain you forget.

This one is based off of Shaddoll spirits, yes! I could do something much more, ah... fleshy, but it would take me time. Easier to make an artificial doll homunculus than to grow organs and make sure they're in the right places. As I said, I'm not a medical doctor, but AM a quick learner."

Well, if it helps, this is probably a much more Plan C case-- which is still fairly high, options are coming in thanks to the wonderous power of social media.

I'd probably just stick with an artificial doll if I went with anything. If I get to the point where I'm going to just shed my current body, why deal with the limitations of being flesh and bone, anyway?

Please do not be fooled by the icon. Sullivan is a strange creature at this point, but they are actually OVERJOYED because this is a man who gets it.

I'll likely look first at reinforcement before abandoning this body altogether-- I am fairly attached to it in more ways than one. It's a poor relationship, really. But like one would a dear beloved pet, I'll do anything it takes to help it.

But I'll admit it, the idea of just transferring my soul altogether? Extremely probable and valid, here. *taking another drink of the coffee*

Out of curiosity, does your body need to sleep? I have to ask. For reasons.

"Not at all, actually. Horrific nightmares and visions plagued my every night, so this is quite the step up!

I would probably have considered something similar had my original body not been slain outright, and then I stole one from who didn't quite deserve it... so I explored this avenue. And intend to return the body to the original owner, if I can track her down..."

Okay, so potentially I can kill two birds with one stone here, wonderful. Actually something to actively keep in mind. I'm sure there'll be no consequences to removing sleep entirely from my schedule.

... does the original owner have a body right now that you can track her down through? Since you went and stole it and all that.

"It helped with that, but I would be lying if there weren't relatively mild side-effects. Feelings of megalomania. Inability to process things that would normally be processed through sleep, so to do so you need multiple minds working through things and you build yourself six homunculi... Slight mania. Dulled emotions.

Very mild."

They make a face, then nod.

"My sister is a horrific revenge ghost that lives in that floating castle that sometimes appears in the night sky. I suspect she isn't quite aware of how her state works, and since she's so focused on killing me, didn't feed on the living properly. I imagine she thought she would take a normal nap, but has been asleep for a few years."

Oh. That has to be awkward for the both of you.

Do you need the magic floating castle lasso'd and anchored down to the earth so you can raid it and stuff her soul back into her body? Because I can probably figure out how to help with that!

"A little, yes. There is a mild guilt on my part at least.

Actually, that would be QUITE useful. I think my third probationary period has officially ended, despite what Katie would like to believe. So I can do large scale acts of magic again not JUST in the service of OOPARTS. As long as I don't harm anyone. And that seems like it wouldn't be harmful to the general public at all."

I'm still a bit on probation, given the circumstances of the "dark god" element, but helping out with getting this thing anchored if that's what it takes!

"Ah, but if I'm off probation and you're only a bit... I'm sure that makes me responsible enough to 'keep an eye on you' in this working and it's not like we would crash the castle into the city.
