[Journal and Event]
I quite literally just woke up in the hospital.
What did I miss?
[Event]
*As Tarou said, he's totally in the hospital.
... and is also handcuffed to the bed, so he legitimately isn't going anywhere at this point. The date is the 30th of December, just more than a day off from it being the New Year.
And he's probably gonna be questioned a lot.
But at the least, you can probably convince the guard to let a visitor or two in.*

Re: [Event]
Yeah, Change is scary and uncomfortable.
Re: [Event]
*he picks up his gaze*
Still, uh...
... Actually, I just recalled. You had passed off a letter or something to get handed to me? I never got a chance to look at it yet.
Since I'd been out of commission for a few weeks.
Re: [Event]
Yes. I wasn't expecting you to be out of commission for. Weeks.
Do you want to read it or do you want me to tell you what was in it.
Re: [Event]
I had the letter in an inner pocket, so it might be with my personal effects, in there.
I would like to read it.
Re: [Event]
Alright.
::Toddles over, and digs through your pockets for a bit, and pulls out the letter and hands it to you.::
Re: [Event]
Thank you very much.
*and then. sets about reading it.*
Re: [Event]
::It's a letter from the Wakahisa Holdings Group, basically offering a Long Term Grant for continuing research into Duel Spirits, their cultures and whatever else you deem pertinent to your research, just so long as you have reasonable consistent brunches and luncheons with one Misses Wakahisa Noriko to give her updates.::
Re: [Event]
... and then he repeats this a few more times.*
I, uh... are you seriously giving me money?
Re: [Event]
Yes. I liked the thing you did with asking about cultures earlier. I want more of that.
Also, yes, clothing, food, housing and dining count as valid grant expenses.
Re: [Event]
*he rubs the back of his head, embarrassed*
Not that I'd have minded, I'm entirely used to that, I spent a few good years just traveling the world and not caring about what happened to me, but-- wow, I can have all of that?
Re: [Event]
::She nods.::
You can have all that. Heck, bum around if you want. Just do it with the grant money. Just check in with me every two to five weeks for a meal to talk, if that's not too much of a bother.
Re: [Event]
Just... Thank you so much. I wasn't sure what exactly I was going to do in that area.
Re: [Event]
It's a part of the Wakahisa Holdings Group's ongoing efforts to help people who don't legally exist. So no worries.
::Waves it off a bit dismissively.::
Re: [Event]
Oh, well, I guess I fall right into that section right now, huh.
I'm guessing it's not really recommended that I keep trying to challenge the other Mamoru to the right to exist, right?
Re: [Event]
No, especially when the advice came from the cat that belongs to 1/3rd of my daughter, of what I understand. There are other ways I think to deal with this. The fact you haven't exploded into not existing is honestly surprising. Maybe you've convinced the universe you're a part of it??
Re: [Event]
But, you know, still might be a good idea to deal with this. I don't think I've convinced the universe of anything, yet.
Re: [Event]
...
Yes, we can deal with this soon, Mr. Yamada Tarou or whatever.
Re: [Event]
Better to keep trying to convince the universe I exist, even if it's an obviously fake name, right?
Re: [Event]
Honestly you should talk to my daughter(s) about that, that's more their field of expertise. Before you drown yourself in existentialism, dear.
Re: [Event]
Oh, come on, existentialism is great fun to visit, sometimes. I used to be a frequent visitor of it during the days where the crushing despair was starting to get to me!
But yeah, I should talk to them. Probably after I manage to get out of here?
Re: [Event]
That would sound reasonable.
I don't think you're likely to be a harm to anyone, so I think you can be recused.
Re: [Event]
Re: [Event]
Straight into a perfectly normal house or apartment no-one would suspect you of using!
Re: [Event]
Everyone makes that mistake, you know. Thinking that people would hide out in dark, dilapidated areas, like a secret base of sorts.
Not that a normal building can't have secret rooms, but it's usually not as expected, yes?
*he stops, and then rubs the back of his head*
Joking aside, uh... Thanks, really. I wasn't sure what I was going to do if I "stuck" around.
Other than maybe sneak into the other Mamoru's house that he has now, I dunno when he started renting out that one, but something tells me I could probably live there without either him or Akira noticing me, with it being so big.
But that'd be inherently really risky, even if potentially very funny. Better to have stability that I'm not breaking the law by existing in.
Re: [Event]
I mean you can still do that if you're really feeling it, I won't stop you. But.
It's no problem, I know a lot of people, some friends, some colleagues, who would not be able to get in with normal bureaucracy and the like, and... slipping through the cracks isn't great...
Besides, living in a cardboard box isn't fun after the first five minutes.
